Overview
I collaborated with Sony Music Ireland to create a series of digital assets for their Spotify channel, Filrt. The goal was to design visually engaging promotional materials that adhered to platform specifications while maintaining a cohesive brand identity. The assets ranged from banners and overlays to homepage takeovers, each requiring a tailored approach to fit different formats and placements within Spotify’s interface.
I worked within Sony Music’s brand guidelines while also allowing room for creative expression to make the Filrt channel stand out. Additionally, since some placements had strict file size limits, I optimised the assets without sacrificing visual quality.
To support performance tracking, I also set up Google Analytics so that Sony Music Ireland’s management team could monitor banner engagement and assess the effectiveness of the promotional assets. Additionally, I was responsible for coding the different banners and homepage takeovers, ensuring they were implemented correctly within Spotify’s platform while maintaining performance efficiency.
Packshots
A packshot image on Spotify is the main cover art or thumbnail that represents an album, playlist, or podcast on the platform. It’s the square picture you see when browsing music or playlists, and it plays a big role in grabbing attention and making a strong visual impression. These images need to be high-quality, well-designed, and recognizable since they help listeners quickly identify content.
